Compulsory insurance of civil liability of motor vehicle owners is provided for in Chapter 4 of the special section of the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “on compulsory insurance”. Compulsory insurance of civil liability of motor vehicle owners is applied in order to compensate for damages caused to health of physical persons, as well as property of physical and legal persons as a result of use of mechanical motor vehicles in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
